About Us
First PRC of Holland was founded in 1929, by a few families committed to the establishment of another Faithful Reformed Church in Holland. Since then the Lord has been gracious, and the congregation has grown and flourished for nearly a century. Today First PRC of Holland is a made up of about 50 families.
Holland PRC is a Christian congregation rooted in the historic Reformed faith, emphasizing the sovereignty of God, the authority of the Bible, and salvation by grace alone through Jesus Christ. The church values thoughtful preaching, meaningful worship, and strong spiritual community, seeking to encourage members to grow in faith and live out biblical principles in everyday life. With a focus on discipleship, family life, and service, Holland PRC aims to be a welcoming place where people can deepen their understanding of Scripture and experience supportive fellowship grounded in shared beliefs.
Our church looks forward to celebrating our 100th anniversary in 2029
As a congregation of Christian believers, our faith is centered upon the person and work of Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the only Lord and Savior (Acts. 4:12). We believe that the one true and living God who sent Jesus Christ into the world to save His people from sin and death and restore them to the favor and fellowship of God (Matt. 1:21). We joyfully believe and proclaim the good news of salvation by grace alone through Christ alone.
First PRC of Holland is a Reformed Christian congregation. This means we trace our spiritual lineage through the Protestant Reformation, a great reform movement through which the Lord renewed His church and brought His people back to the pure fountain of the Scriptures. As a Reformed congregation, we subscribe to the Three Forms of Unity: the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession of Faith, and the Canons of the Synod of Dordt. These Reformed Creeds summarize the biblical teaching that God saves His people, not through their own works, but by grace alone, through the work of Jesus Christ alone. Salvation by grace is an article of faith most dear to our hearts as Reformed Christians, and a source of comfort and joy in all of life.
The warm heart of our faith is best summarized in the first question and answer of the Heidelberg Catechism:
Our worship services are conservative by modern American standards; some may describe them as “traditional.” We elevate praising God over entertaining ourselves, and our worship reflects that.
We use the KJV version of the Bible in worship, but other versions maybe used by members and visitors.
Our Special worship services are held on Prayer Day (PM) Good Friday (PM) Asension Day (AM), Thanksgiving Day (AM), Christmas Day (AM), New Years Day (AM)
