Parenting in the Information Age

Wednesday, September 14 at 7 PM
Speaker: Rev. Daniel Holstege

We live in an age of astounding advancement in technology, an age in which information is easily and instantaneously available to all. More and more this creates unique difficulties for Christian parents who seek to carry out the biblical calling of God’s covenant to teach and train their children in the knowledge and fear of Jehovah (Deut. 7:6, Prov. 22:6). But that calling remains, and the Bible is strikingly relevant to this challenge of parenting in the Information Age.

The Christian Lifestyle of a Parent

Wednesday, September 28 at 7 PM
Speaker: Prof. Barry Gritters

The single most important influence on children is their parents—not only what the parents say, but how the parents live. And how the parents view their children—Whose are they? What is their relation to God? Are they trainable?—makes a great deal of difference in how the parents live in the presence of the children. In our day, it is vital that parents are good examples to their precious children, and this final speech will encourage parents in that high calling.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
-Proverbs 22:6
